Better Banking Decisions
I teach bankers and business owners how to talk to each other!
I have learned, from decades of experience teaching bankers how to work with their business customers, that smart bankers and smart customers are the optimal combination, and that win-win banking relationships are truly possible. That's why this web site, and my business, are dedicated to educating both bankers and their customers, developing the common ground and shared understanding that leads to the best possible outcomes.
I teach and consult in every market in the country (and a few outside our borders). For years, I have applied my extensive experience in this industry to help banks manage risk and optimize performance, and to lead bank employees toward better practices, better decisions, and better results.
And it is precisely that experience with banks and bankers that puts me in a unique position to help business owners learn to tell their stories more effectively, to get more from their relationships with their financial services providers.

Please use the tabs at the top of this page to quickly zero in on the content of most interest to you . . . but don't be afraid to browse other sections of my site!
- Bankers often come here, for the first time, to subscribe to my E-zine. That tab will introduce you to Jeff's Thoughts, allow you to browse (and re-use, with acknowledgement) more than 50 articles from past issues, and give you a quick, convenient way to subscribe so that you don't miss future articles.
- Meanwhile, the Bankers tab describes the training and consulting services I offer in detail, including typical course topics, a listing of clients, and explanations of the most common consulting needs. You'll also find special articles on key subjects, reprints of published articles, and some useful links to helpful Internet sites.
- Business Owners will learn much more about why they want to learn about how bankers approach business data and business decisions . . . and about why I have the ideal experience to teach them how bankers think! In this section, you'll get some ideas on why conversations between business owners and bankers rarely go as well as they should, and you'll find some insights on how to navigate the mind of the banker for better results. You'll also find special articles and reprints, as well as a few recommended links for additional business advice.
- The Press Kit tab is not just for members of the media! This section offers standard biographical blurbs and photos to support articles, presentations, and promotional materials, as well as sharing past press releases and providing complete contact/attribution information. So whether you are letting people know about a seminar, workshop, or presentation I'm delivering for you, or looking for a bio to support an article or interview, this tab is for you.
- And, of course, no matter where you fall in the audiences above, banker, business owner, event promoter, article editor, or member of the media, visiting the Jeff tab will let you know what I'm up to these days, share testimonials from those I have helped and taught in the past, and provide basic information on my background and my philosophy of business.
- You can also use the Search Box at the upper right corner of your screen to search for particular words throughout my entire site. This is a great way to find past articles that deal with topics of interest to you.
